Edut 5768 Nissan 11
Informal translation from Hebrew of the 11 Nissan, 5768 (16 April 2007) statement:
Appeal to the [Israel] Supreme Court for speedy hearing
Passover Offering (correction to prior request), 11th of Nissan 5768, to the honorable President of the High Court, Dorit Beinish.
The Headquarters for the Land of Israel, Temple organizations, and the Temple Institute submitted a demand and request to give a temporary restraining order which would instruct the Waqf and the State of Israel to refrain from interfering with Jews fulfilling the commandment of the Passover Offering. Since the regional court refused to discuss the request, it was submitted in an appeal to the High Court of Justice (3354/08), on Friday, the 6th of Nissan, 5768 (April 11, 2008).
As opposed to the efficiency with which the High Court of Justice decides on proceedings which authorize the destruction of Jewish homes in the Land of Israel (petitions regarding Amona, Mitzpeh Yitzhar, for example), the decision on the appeal has been delayed already for five days, in spite of repeat requests from us to decide on the identity of a court authorized to discuss the request.
Being that the judge working on the case is having difficulty coming to a decision in a reasonable amount of time, and the continued delay in giving a decision may possibly hinder fulfillment of the commandment, which has a set time and place which are not changeable, we hereby request that you transfer the case to yourself or to another judge which can decide on the case immediately.
In any event, due to the fact that there is no decision nullifying the right of Jews to perform the holy commandment of the Passover Offering, we intend to act to set up an altar on the Temple Mount on the place reserved for it on Friday, the 13th of Nissan, 5768, and to sacrifice on that place the Passover Offerings on the Sabbath day, the 14th of Nissan, 5768.
