On the 9th of Tevet, 5766, representatives of groups of B’nei Noach from the USA gathered for a foundational convention which took place in Jerusalem, in which they officially pledged, in front of a Sanhedrin forum, to observe the Seven Laws of B’nei Noach which they are commanded to keep.  (The need to accept the Commandments of B’nei Noach in front of a Sanhedrin forum was in able to satisfy the approaches by which it is not enough for a Gentile to accept by himself the obligation to the commandments, but rather it must be done in front of a Torah Court)  Obviously, the convention was preceded by a large amount of logistical arrangements, some of which included locating the groups of B’nei Noach across the USA, and remaining in contact with the groups’ representatives, with complete coordination with the other groups.  The convention left a strong impression on the participants, and now the convention serves as a cornerstone for continual direction connection – for the sake of guidance and direction, for groups of B’nei Noach across the USA.

The Sanhedrin maintains electronic contact with B’nei Noah all over the world, a connection of halachic question and answers.  The Court for B’nei Noah of the Sanhedrin receives the halachic questions, discusses them, and replies to them.  Thus an important and fruitful connection is maintained with the B’nei Noah, who find for themselves an important and available halachic source for answers on problems and subjects which concern them.  This connection continues to expand, and provides real aide for widening the circle of questioners, and those that are coming closer to observance of the Seven Commandments of B’nei Noah among the nations.

Acceptance by the People of the World of the Obligatory Nature of their Seven Commandments

Well known are the words of the Rambam regarding the requirement to compel all of the nations to accept the Seven Commandments of B’nei Noach:

“And thus Moses our teacher commanded us of G-d’s word to compel all people to accept all of the commandments that Noah was commanded.” (Mishneh Torah Laws of Kings 8:10)

This obligation is the basis for a wide field of activities which occupies the Sanhedrin, when in the framework of this activity, the Sanhedrin serves as a central international body which acts to guide and direct B’nei Noach worldwide.

The following are some activities, some one-time, others ongoing, in which the Sanhedrin has acted and continues to act in the last few years.

B'nei Noach Convention

Questions and Answers

The Sanhedrin maintains electronic contact with B’nei Noah all over the world, a connection of halachic question and answers. The Court for B’nei Noah of the Sanhedrin receives the halachic questions, discusses them, and replies to them. Thus an important and fruitful connection is maintained with the B’nei Noah, who find for themselves an important and available halachic source for answers on problems and subjects which concern them. This connection continues to expand, and provides real aide for widening the circle of questioners, and those that are coming closer to observance of the Seven Commandments of B’nei Noah among the nations.

Multimedia Disk

The Court for B’nei Noah of the Sanhedrin has put out a multimedia disk that describes the importance of our era, as many of the nations of the world are approaching monotheistic faith and the principles of the faith of Israel, and praises the importance of acceptance of the Seven Commandments of B’nei Noah, and their fulfillment.
